My Setup

This is the current configuration of my 1972 VW Super Beetle as I continue to dial in my Kadron carb setup and bring this vintage motor to life.

Engine

• Unknown displacement (suspected 1641cc)
• Kadron H40/44EIS dual carbs, recently rebuilt and tuned
• Current jets: 55 idle / 130 main (transitioning to 57.5 / 132.5 soon)
• Vintage Bugpack ceramic-coated header with dual quiet packs
• Mechanical advance Bosch 019 distributor (cast iron body)
• NOS Bosch 01 001 points and Blue Streak AL-111X condenser
• 28 degrees total timing, approx. 10 degrees base

Fuel System

• Rebuildable Pierburg square-top mechanical fuel pump
• Fuel pressure regulator planned (2.5 to 3 PSI range)
• 1/4 inch fuel lines

Chassis

• 1972 Super Beetle, flat windshield
• Running gear solid, all wrenching done in garage or driveway
